Nigerian Government Sets Up Startup Hub In Silicon Valley

The Federal Government has approved setting up a startup hub in San Francisco, USA also known as the Silicon Valley.

The minister  of communications, innovation, and digital economy, Bosun Tijani made the announcement yesterday via a post on X.

In his statement announcing the development ,,the minister said it  “sits firmly”  in the desire of the Ministry to  “ position Nigeria as a significant player in the global technology landscape”

The Startup House

As approved by the Federal Executive Council, (FEC) , an existing property of the Federal Government in San Francisco, USA will be converted to a Nigerian Digital Technology Exchange Programme Hub (Nigeria Startup House).

The  ownership of the Nigeria Startup House will remain with the Federal Government, represented by the @FMCIDENigeria and @NigeriaMFA.

The Location 

The San Francisco Bay Area, and nearby Silicon Valley, is recognised globally as a major source of startup ecosystem funding.

With a combined GDP value of just over $929 billion, it is home to over 200 of the largest companies in the world by revenue.
