I can’t explain how I broke into Inter Milan first team — Martins

Former Super Eagles forward Obafemi Martins says inter Milan remain a special club and praised the club for developing his talent.

Obefemi Martins, 38, started his football career at Inter Milan in 2002, after leaving Nigeria at the age of 16.

The Nigerian broke into the first team, the  forward spent four seasons with the Blue and Black of Milan, playing in most important derbies alongwith biggest names in the round leather game at the time.

The Nigerian went on to make 88 league appearances and scored 28 goals for the club.

He also helped Inter Milan to the 2005-2006 scudetto and two Coppa Italia, with one Supercoppa title.

Speaking on BrilaFM’s breakfast show “No Hold Barred” with Ifeanyi Udeze, Martins was surprised to have achieved many successes with the club.

“I can’t still explain how I broke into the team then, because we had so many great players in the squad.”
