Aruna Joins Saudi Arabia Table Tennis Club Khaleej

Nigeria’s table tennis star, Quadri Aruna, has secured a big transfer to Saudi Arabia club Khaleej.

This was revealed by Making of Champions on their X handle.

Aruna joined the Saudi Arabia side from German club TTC RhönSprudel Maberzell Fulda.

The 35-year-old is currently ranked 16th in the world with his highest-ever ranking being 10th in May 2022, the first African to achieve the feat.

He has represented Nigeria at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and World Cup.

At the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, he won silver.

At the World Cup 2014, he reached the quarter-finals in the Men’s Singles competition.

In the 2017 ITTF World Challenge Bulgaria Open, he advanced to the semi-finals, where he was defeated in a tight match by the eventual winner Dimitrij Ovtcharov.

In 2014, he was ranked number 30 in world table tennis, and the International Table Tennis Federationnamed him the Star Player of the year.
