The eleven finalists in the Best Men’s Player category at the 14th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards have been revealed with newly crowned African Player of the Year, Victor Osimhen making the shortlist.  

 

Osimhen has established himself as one of the most clinical strikers in the world in the past 12 months, scooping the Serie A top scorer award for last season and was the highest goalscorer in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

 

The 24-year-old was recently named the Italian Footballers’ Association (AIC) Player of the Year for the 2022-2023 Serie A season, finished in eighth place in the 2023 Ballon d’Or award and is in the running for The Best FIFA Men’s Player.

 

Joining Osimhen on the 11-player shortlist are Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Vinícius Jr (Real Madrid), Kylian Mbappe (PSG), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Karim Benzema (Al-Ittihad), Lionel Messi (Inter Miami), Bernardo Silva (Man City), Kevin De Bruyne (Man City), Erling Haaland (Man City)and Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nassr).
