Speaking on AFTV’s Transfer Daily, Arsenal expert Robbie Lyle reckons that it would be difficult for Arsenal to pull off a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface in the January transfer window. 

 

Arsenal have been blunt in attack in recent weeks, having netted just four goals in their last five matches in the Premier League and could do with the signing of an attacker to strengthen the team. 

 

All of a sudden, Arsenal find themselves in fourth place with north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur breathing down their back, because they are not scoring enough goals. 

 

In terms of goals scored, forward players like Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus have been off form.

 

Arsenal have been linked with a host of strikers such as Brentford’s Ivan Toney and two Nigeria-eligible players in the shape of Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke and Victor Boniface. 

 

It’s hard to get big deals done in January because teams don’t want to let their players go when they are either competing for titles or battling to avoid relegation, coupled with Financial Fair Play regulations.
